Emmerdale confirms secretive Serena’s next move – as she targets Ross
Emmerdale newcomer Serena Sugden grows closer to Ross Barton next week, as she purposely manipulates situations to spend time with him – but does she fancy him, or is there a more sinister motive at play?
With Robert Sugden still recovering from being hit by a runaway vehicle, Aaron Dingle is a farmer short. Eager Serena offers to help, forcing a reluctant Aaron to say yes – and it’s not long before she’s creating a situation to get to know Ross a little better!
“Emmerdale women falling for Ross’s rugged charm is a tale as old as time, and it seems that Serena can’t resist the pull,” says our show source.
“In typical Ross style, he’s totally flattered by her persistent interest and assumes that she’s hoping for some romance. However, from what we’ve seen of Serena so far, it’s possible that she could be feigning her crush as part of her investigation…”
Ross has bigger fish to fry this week too, as his boss Kim Tate discovers that there’s been an intruder at Home Farm. Armed with her trusty shotgun, Kim demands that, as her Head of Operations, Ross get to the bottom of things – starting by investigating a list of suspects that she’s compiled.
However, Ross’s sleuthing doesn’t quite go to plan, and instead leads to a brutal brawl with Aaron!
“Ross isn’t known for his subtlety,” points out our spy. “First, he accuses Moira of being the trespasser, but she sharply sends him packing. His next suspect is Robert, but protective Aaron immediately leaps to his fiancé’s defence and fights Ross, forcing Serena to intervene and stop the scrap!”
While Ross moves no further forward in his investigation, Serena takes a moment alone with Robert to give him a full explanation about her investigation into John. Her honesty is enough to convince Robert to let Serena stay, even though Aaron remains wary of her.
Up at Home Farm meanwhile, Kim realises that the intruder has stolen a USB memory stick…
“Kim doesn’t suffer fools, so whoever stole from her better watch their back,” warns our insider. “She’s already brandishing a shotgun, so there’s no telling what she’ll do to the thief once she finds them! Though we do wonder what’s on that USB stick…”
