Challenge: first impression redemption look
Confirmed eliminations last episodes: Plane Jane, R’Bonney, Q/Robby, Lrè, Andrea, Jennifer.
5 designers will go home but wait there’s more! The 6 “winners” from last week and the 6 eliminated designers will be serving as a jury to save one of the eliminated designers from going home. Yes there’s a mild cliffhanger.
16. Bryan (immune)- well, he’s just lucky he’s got immunity. And I’ll say this, he can make a whole bed, bath and Beyoncé collection at this point huh? Why does everything he make look like bedding or sheets or pillows? Trend alert: bedding! You know he will be petty and with the new jury twist (yes for those that didn’t watch the episode there’s now a jury twist where the winning designers from last episode and the losing designers from last episode get to save an eliminated designer, I guess they wanted their moneys worth of Plane Jane and her fuck ass wigs or something) and eliminate Bi coz he hates him for I don’t know reasons, but yeah he decided I have immunity why bother and it shows.
15. Aaron (btm/safe)- yeah… I get it’s a true “make it work moment” (he ruined his look somehow) but like… an elastic waist? On this runway? With 5 people going home?? I just don’t thing he truly made it work and he deserved to be saved
14. Chloe (immune)- this is where this many people being immune isn’t fair. This was a mess!! It was free people it was Anthropologie… it was a tragic crotch situation and I hate highlighting a crotch but I had to it looked like a diaper! Plus the back it looked like a table cloth. I was not impressed
13. Yangyang- btm/elim- I truly don’t think she’s getting saved by the jury, she had bird fabric Christian talked her out of, but even if she had it, it wouldn’t have helped this mess. It looked like a church choir look, or something in a regional production of Jesus Christ super star, it was ill fitting and just looked haphazard
12. Elizabeth (immune)- one of two hooker saloon girl looks this episode, she was immune as well and I guess decided she didn’t need to go for fashion because hey she’s not going home so why bother, but she somehow is deciding who else is going home… after making a hooker saloon girl costume… interesting
11. Andriy (immune)- the other hooker saloon girl costume this episode that wouldn’t look out of place in a chintzy roadside shop where you take novelty photos, the immune designers this episode really decided not to care this episode. Fascinating choice.
10. Joseph (win)- Joseph and the mid technicolor dream coat. I mean why does it look like someone cosplaying a 90s rapper? I’m glad there’s no fuck ass hat, tho I feel like the look is lacking SOMETHING what that is I can’t tell you.
9. Naheim (Btm/safe)- omg it’s a yassifed back rooms captain. I mean this hat is a bit much too, but I don’t know why I don’t hate it? I think it shows vision and there’s something interesting there but it just doesn’t quite make it for me. It Almost works I’m not mad at it
8. Octavius (elim) I don’t think he’ll get saved by the jury, and I’ll just say this, I don’t necessarily like this, the back fit horrible, and if she just kept on the coat we’d be fine. If suits are your thing you should be great at them. This is just mid, and if you can’t tailor in time don’t be overly ambitious. Still, not the worst thing on the runway, a lot of the “winners” looks were so bad that the losing designers really got a bad deal.
7. Bobby (immune) bao said it best when she said this looked childish, it’s fine but this is nothing new and nothing to look forward to. I see nothing so exciting about this and I’m not so excited to see what she does next, once again, very lucky to have immunity.,
6. Dani (elim) considering they were in the bottom last week I don’t think they’ll be saved by the jury, it’s not a great look (I’m grading on curve here the challenge was rough) but I got a buyer sense of who they were and I liked this so much better than what they presented last week
5. Jude (immune)- last week was better but I am impressed with the tailoring skills. They certainly need styling skills and I want to see what else they can bring. I really hope they mix it up and bring something different
4. Jeffery (top) the front is just too closed off but the back is a real stunner so I am hoping to see more. I’m glad they were saved, and honestly I would’ve been happy with this winning
3. Anna (top)- her whole childhood dress story was cute and Christian was a little weird for discouraging her for using that as inspiration because he was like “oh nobody has seen that dress” but a lot of times designers use inspiration from things from home that nobody have seen I don’t get why he discouraged that as inspiration. However, I think we have seen fabric similar to this from either Amanda or Michelle. I will have to dig that up, overall I do think this was fine and serviceable.
2. Bao (elim)- she’s the only person I can see the jury saving. It’s a little much and I’m not really sure how the top part is staying up, but I see the ambition and I find it interesting. I don’t know if it would work on a bigger chested girl and that does bother me, but I find the overall look interesting and I think she has more to give.
- Bi (elim) yeah coz of Bryan’s pettiness he’s definitely not going to be saved but both of his looks have been great so far and top looks for sure. I’m really not sure what the judges are not seeing. I am genuinely confused. Someone explain this to me.
