DOOL Spoilers: Decoding Dr_ Rolf’s 3 Glowing Pods — Who Is Trapped Inside? Days of our lives

Salem may have witnessed Dr. Wilhelm Rolf apparently walking away from his resurrection experiments, but there is one enormous problem that makes his supposed retirement almost impossible to believe.

Deep inside his underground laboratory, three mysterious glowing pods remain active, quietly humming in the darkness. And if those chambers really contain preserved bodies, the biggest question is not whether Rolf is finished with his work. It is who he left behind.

DOOL Spoilers: Is Rolf's Lab In The Dimera Tunnels - Soap Opera Spy

The final moments surrounding Rolf’s latest experiment have opened the door to one of the most unsettling mysteries in Days of Our Lives.

After everything that happened with Lexi Carver, Rolf appeared ready to abandon his dangerous attempts to reverse death. Yet instead of destroying his laboratory or disposing of the bodies connected to his experiments, he simply left the three pods behind.

That detail changes everything.

Rolf has spent years pushing the boundaries of science, repeatedly attempting to accomplish what no ordinary doctor could ever achieve. His obsession with resurrection has always been closely connected to the DiMera family’s fascination with defeating death. Now, even if Rolf truly believes he is finished playing God,

the machinery he leaves behind could become the source of Salem’s next major shock.

The most disturbing part of the scene is how quietly Rolf says goodbye. There is no dramatic attack, no explosive confrontation and no final act of madness. Instead, he looks toward the glowing chambers, tells those inside to rest in peace, switches off the lights and disappears into the darkness.

That calm ending makes the situation even more frightening.

Because Rolf may have stopped the experiment, but he did not necessarily destroy the evidence.

And as every longtime Salem fan knows, a character being declared dead has never guaranteed that character will remain gone forever.

The first and perhaps most obvious possibility is Lexi Carver.

Lexi’s connection to Rolf’s latest experiment makes her the strongest candidate. Rolf was convinced that his newest resurrection treatment could accomplish something extraordinary. He believed he could save Lexi, but the experiment ultimately failed. Her death left Abe Carver devastated, while those closest to her were forced to confront the painful reality that she was gone.

But what if Rolf did something completely different with Lexi’s body?

What if he could not bring her back immediately, but refused to let her truly die?

That possibility becomes particularly disturbing because of the suspicious circumstances surrounding a covered body being transported through the hospital.

If the person moving that body really was connected to Rolf, it raises an obvious question: could Lexi have been secretly taken away before her family had the chance to say a final goodbye?

If so, her presence inside one of those pods would turn an already tragic story into something much darker.

Abe has been trying to accept Lexi’s death and find a way to move forward. He experienced the devastating final moments with her and was forced to begin rebuilding his life without the woman he loved. Discovering that her body had secretly been preserved by Rolf would reopen every wound.

Days of Our Lives Preview: EJ and Rolf's Secret Project Is Revealed

And Theo would face an equally devastating revelation.

He is already struggling with grief and making questionable choices as he attempts to cope with losing his mother. Learning that Lexi might have been alive in some form all along—just hidden away inside a laboratory—could completely destabilize him.

Then there is EJ DiMera.

EJ’s anger toward Rolf reached a breaking point after the resurrection attempt failed. He trusted Rolf’s claims, only to watch the experiment collapse. If EJ later discovers that Rolf secretly preserved Lexi instead of allowing her family to bury her, the betrayal could be enormous.

Rolf may have believed he was protecting a possible future resurrection,

but EJ could see it as the ultimate violation of his sister’s final wishes.

Then we arrive at the second possible occupant: Peter Blake.

This theory reaches much further back into Salem’s history, but that may actually make it more intriguing. Peter has deep ties to the DiMera world and remains one of those characters whose history could be revisited if the writers wanted to connect the present storyline to the past.

Rolf’s history also makes Peter an interesting candidate.

The doctor has never been known for throwing away anything connected to his experiments. His scientific obsession has frequently involved preserving bodies,

manipulating DNA and keeping seemingly impossible possibilities alive. If Peter’s remains were ever secretly preserved, Rolf would be exactly the kind of person capable of keeping such a secret for years.

Imagine the shock if one of those pods suddenly opened and Peter Blake stepped back into Salem.

It would not simply be a resurrection. It would be a return of an old DiMera-era threat into a completely different Salem.

Peter could immediately become a wildcard. His personality, history and connections could put him directly at odds with the current generation. The DiMera family has changed dramatically,

and a character from the past returning without warning could create a massive power struggle.

EJ would certainly have reasons to be concerned.

The DiMera legacy has already been filled with rivalries, betrayals and battles over control. Bringing Peter back could introduce another unpredictable player into that equation. He could challenge existing alliances, manipulate old grudges and force characters to confront secrets they thought had been buried forever.

And that brings us to the third pod—the one that could arguably create the biggest emotional earthquake of them all.

Abigail Deveraux.

For years,

Abigail’s death has remained one of the most painful losses surrounding Chad and the Deveraux-DiMera family. Her absence continues to influence the people she left behind, particularly Chad, who has struggled to rebuild his life while carrying the emotional weight of losing the woman he once considered his future.

What makes Abigail such an intriguing possibility is the uncertainty surrounding her remains.

In the world of soap operas, an unresolved death can sometimes be a giant warning sign. If a character’s story leaves behind unanswered questions, fans naturally begin wondering whether there is more to the story than anyone realizes.

Abigail’s situation provides exactly that kind of opening.

Chad has attempted to move forward. He has had to deal with the trauma of someone else impersonating Abigail, while simultaneously trying to remain a strong father for Thomas and Charlotte. His emotional journey has been anything but simple.

Now imagine what would happen if the real Abigail suddenly returned.

Days of Our Lives: Who Is In the Three Pods Dr. Rolf Still Has?

Not another impersonator.

Not a look-alike.

Not a trick.

The real Abigail.

If she were somehow preserved inside one of Rolf’s mysterious chambers, Chad’s entire world would be turned upside down.

The timing could make the situation even more explosive.

Just as Chad begins considering a future with Belle, Abigail could suddenly reappear. Everything he thought he had finally accepted would be thrown into chaos.

Belle would also find herself caught in an impossible situation. She could be building a relationship with Chad, only to discover that his supposedly deceased wife is alive—or at least potentially capable of being revived.

And Chad would have to confront the most difficult question of all: does he return to the woman he lost, or continue the life he has been trying to build?

That emotional conflict alone could fuel months of drama.

But there is another possibility that makes the three pods even more fascinating.

Maybe the answer is not exactly what everyone expects.

Rolf could have preserved people for reasons that have nothing to do with immediate resurrection. Perhaps the pods are holding experimental subjects, unfinished projects or bodies connected to an older DiMera plan. The identities could even be designed to surprise viewers by bringing back characters nobody currently suspects.

That is what makes the final scene so effective.

Rolf walks away, but the mystery remains.

His decision to abandon the laboratory does not erase the danger. Instead, it leaves behind three unanswered questions sitting in the darkness,

waiting for someone to discover them.

The pods could remain untouched for months.

Or someone could eventually return to that laboratory, restore the power and discover that the experiment was never truly finished.

The possibility of Lexi, Peter and Abigail being inside those chambers is certainly enough to fuel speculation, but Salem has always been capable of delivering an even bigger twist.

Perhaps Rolf knows exactly who is inside.

Perhaps someone else knows.

Or perhaps even Rolf does not fully understand what his experiments have created.

One thing is certain: these glowing pods are too significant to ignore.

If they truly contain preserved bodies, then Rolf’s final goodbye may not have been an ending at all. It may have been a warning.

The doctor may believe he has finally stepped away from his obsession with resurrection, but his creations remain behind. And as long as those chambers continue to exist, the possibility of another impossible return remains alive.

Lexi’s potential return would devastate Abe and Theo.

Peter’s return could ignite another DiMera power struggle.

Abigail’s return could completely transform Chad’s future.

And a mystery fourth option could be even more shocking.

For now, the identities remain hidden beneath the glow of Rolf’s strange machinery. Salem can only wait for someone to open those pods and reveal exactly what has been preserved inside.

Because in Days of Our Lives, death has never truly meant goodbye.

Sometimes, it is only the beginning of the next secret.

And those three glowing pods may be holding Salem’s biggest secret yet.
