Emmerdale’s Vinny incurs Kev’s wrath ahead of exit that will destroy Lewis
Through Kev Barton’s (Chris Coghill) attempts to reconnect with Lewis (Bradley Riches), he’s been fuelling his son’s grand dreams of a wedding on a beach in Bali in Emmerdale. Stirring the pot, some might say.
Lewis has all but planned out his entire wedding to Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson), trouble is, he hasn’t actually been asked yet. And Vinny isn’t even on board.

Things have been a little bit tense for Vinny since Kev came on the scene. The two have butted heads as Vinny struggled with the fact that he sees a lot of his dad in Kev, who was a pathological liar and uncontrollably violent.
Both Kev and Lewis have been trying to help Vinny see it’s not the case, and while he knows it’s not, the worry won’t fully leave him.
And while Kev has managed to redeem himself to Vinny somewhat, some of his erratic behaviour isn’t helping his cause, neither is him pressuring Vinny to pop the question.

Kev stole Vinny’s van for the nappy heist, and when Vinny found out he wasn’t best pleased as it played right into his worries about Lewis’ dad.
Kev then confessed to being the one to wallop Billy over the head with a crowbar. But Kev played the guilt card – he revealed to Vinny he’d stolen the goods because Lewis wants to get married.
Vinny was left conflicted by this, he could see Kev’s intent to do good, but nearly killing someone in the process wasn’t the best way to go about it.
Bit of a shock for Vinny finding out about Lewis’ plans to get wed, and Vinny clearly isn’t over the moon about the idea.
A chat with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) revealed he is unsure about the nuptials because he ‘wants to get it right’, but there seems to be more going on there. Having only come out in the last year or so, he’s still finding himself and learning what he wants in life.
Is it being married to Lewis? Kev might not give him a choice, and he knows it.

Vinny knows the time is not right to propose and tells Kev he’s holding off. This will no doubt go down like a fart in a lift for the master baker, and Vinny is left nervous when he realises Kev has likely overheard a confidential conversation with Gabby. A conversation that may leave something weighing heavily on her.
He pulls Kev to one side and asks him to keep quiet about what he heard, prompting Vinny to confide in him.
But it’s a gut-achingly cringe moment as it turns out Kev likely hadn’t overheard after all and Vinny has put both feet in it. Kev hits the roof at the revelation; how will Vinny rescue the situation? Has he confessed to Kev he doesn’t want to marry Lewis?
