The biggest mystery surrounding Dr. Todd’s shocking death has finally been answered. Several weeks ago, viewers were shown an unsettling preview of the dangerous doctor lying motionless in a pool of blood. From that moment, it was obvious that someone would eventually decide that Todd had gone too far. What nobody could predict was exactly who would take matters into their own hands.

There were plenty of possible suspects.

Charity Dingle had every reason to want revenge after everything Todd had put her through. Mack Boyd could also have been expected to retaliate after seeing the damage Todd had caused to his wife. Vanessa Woodfield was another obvious possibility, especially because of how fiercely protective she had become of Charity.

But none of them was responsible for Todd’s death.

Instead, the shocking truth points directly toward Sarah Sugden.

The chain of events began when Todd arrived at Charity’s home and confronted her. Charity had returned to the village after spending a drunken afternoon with Manpreet Sharma, whom she had later driven home. Once Todd was back at her own property, Vanessa arrived and confronted her angrily.

As usual, Todd attempted to manipulate Vanessa and use intimidation to regain control of the situation. This time, however, Vanessa refused to be frightened. She confronted Todd directly and branded her a rapist before leaving and heading toward Jacob’s Fold.

Vanessa had expected to find Charity terrified and emotionally broken. Instead, she discovered someone who was finally prepared to stand up to the woman who had hurt her.

The confrontation between Charity and Todd quickly became one of the most intense moments of the storyline. Meanwhile, the complicated relationship between Kev Townshend, his son Lewis Barton and Ross Barton continues to attract attention. Following Lewis’s traumatic kidnapping ordeal, the relationship between Kev and Ross has become increasingly hostile.

Bradley Riches, who plays Lewis, has spoken about what it is like working alongside the two strong personalities. He has described the combination as a major highlight because Kev, Ross and Lewis all approach life in completely different ways.

Kev is impulsive and quick to lose his temper. Ross can be equally aggressive, but he often approaches problems from a more calculating and secretive angle. Lewis, meanwhile, sees things differently from both men.

The problem is that both Kev and Ross believe they know what is best for Lewis.

Ross has already spent considerable time acting as both Lewis’s brother and a father figure. Now Kev has arrived and revealed that he is Lewis’s biological father. Naturally, Ross is struggling to accept the change.

The tension became even worse after Ross was forced to work alongside Kev to rescue Lewis from his kidnapping ordeal back in June 2026. Lewis had been taken by Kev’s vengeful former girlfriend, Kylie, whose bizarre motive revolved around an accusation that Kev had stolen her diamond necklace.

Thankfully, Lewis was eventually rescued.

But Kev then made an unexpected decision. Instead of disappearing from the village, he chose to stay and build a relationship with the son he had only recently discovered.

Ross was furious.

He immediately feared that Kev could return to his criminal ways and eventually cause emotional damage to Lewis. Their arguments soon turned physical, with Ross knocking Kev unconscious during one confrontation and Kev later retaliating by punching Ross during another explosive encounter.
