Emmerdale bride-to-be Dawn Fletcher is armed and dangerous next week, as she points a loaded shotgun at her clueless future husband Joe Tate.

“Dawn wants an easy way out,” explains our village source. “She sees red, still believing that Joe was responsible for Billy’s attack and deserves payback. He’s a slippery character who gets away with everything, but this time, Dawn wants him to suffer.”

In hushed conversations at Home Farm, Dawn and Billy have been planning their escape. With Joe leaving for his stag do, the pair gather their belongings and fake passports, telling the kids they’re heading on holiday. But unfortunately for them, Graham Foster thwarts their bid for freedom…

Mysteriously, Graham takes nervous Dawn and Billy to a field. Joe appears and surprises them both with a joint stag and hen party, but the sight of guns for the clay pigeon shoot sends shivers up their spines. Has their plan been discovered?

“Billy and Dawn worry they’ve walked into a trap,” continues our insider. “You’re never far away from a gun at Home Farm, but considering the untrustworthy history between this trio, there’s something sinister about this party!”

The tension and paranoia escalate as the group dons the safety equipment, but Dawn can feel her escape plan falling away from her. Caleb Miligan is supposed to be helping them get out of the country, but he’s nowhere to be seen – so when Dawn steps up for her shot, Billy’s terrified about what she might do…

“Dawn’s suffocating at the thought of being trapped with Joe,” warns our spy. “She can see herself married and tied to him at Home Farm forever, and the thought scares her. She still believes he attacked Billy, and that was her final straw after a long line of second chances.”

As Dawn contemplates gunning down the man she’s set to marry, she has no clue that Joe had nothing to do with Billy’s attack! And when Billy later discovers the truth from Kev Barton’s drunk ramblings and apologies, he’s gobsmacked that Joe was innocent all along!

But will the truth about Billy’s accident spread further? Or has Dawn already made her decision with a deadly weapon in her hands?
