The attack left him with a severe brain injury and placed him in a coma, leaving his loved ones terrified that he might never wake up.

Thankfully, Billy eventually regained consciousness, but his recovery has immediately become tangled up in the mystery surrounding what happened to him.

Caleb Milligan had already pointed the finger at Joe Tate, putting the spotlight firmly on Dawn’s fiancé. Joe was questioned by police, although he was eventually released because investigators did not have enough evidence to charge him. However, the suspicion surrounding him has refused to disappear.

In the latest drama, Caleb became increasingly uncomfortable when he noticed Joe attempting to find out whether Billy had remembered anything about the attack. The moment suggested that Joe was desperate to know exactly what Billy could recall.

The doctor confidently resumed her position at the hospital and even asked Manpreet Sharma to bring her up to date with the latest local developments. But her return quickly became sinister when she confronted Charity inside her own home.

A preview of the upcoming episode shows Charity ordering Caitlyn to leave her property. Caitlyn, however, refuses to be intimidated.

Instead, she taunts Charity and deliberately attempts to get under her skin.

When Charity moves toward her phone in an effort to call for help, Caitlyn manages to get there first and takes it away. The doctor then accuses Charity of spreading lies about her and insists that they need to settle a few matters between them.

Charity desperately tries to force Caitlyn to acknowledge what she has done, but the confrontation becomes even more explosive when the doctor threatens to reveal the truth about Ila’s parentage.

The threat leaves Charity furious.

Eventually, Charity openly brands Caitlyn a rapist.

But she does not realize that someone else has entered the house.

An unknown observer is secretly listening to the confrontation, meaning that the truth could finally be about to reach someone who can expose Caitlyn.

The biggest question is who that person is — and exactly how much they heard.

This storyline comes shortly after Charity said an emotional goodbye to her son Noah, who left the Dales after accepting a job opportunity in Germany. His departure marked an emotional moment for the family and also brought Jack Downham’s long run on the soap to an end.

Meanwhile, another relationship is heading toward trouble as Lewis Barton continues building a bond with his father, Kev.

Kev has become one of the village’s more unpredictable characters, mixing comedy with a much darker history. He has made serious mistakes in the past, but his relationship with Lewis has given him a reason to try to become a better man.
