Days of our lives Kristen poses as Susan, secretly poisons EJ to death!

EJ DiMera is facing one of the most terrifying situations of his life, and what initially looks like an ordinary case of the flu may turn out to be something far more sinister. In Days of Our Lives, EJ has been reduced to a pale, sweating, completely bedridden mess, struggling even to lift himself from his expensive sheets. For a man who normally dominates every room he enters, this sudden weakness is impossible to ignore. And the biggest question hanging over Salem is simple: is EJ really sick, or has someone deliberately poisoned him?

Days of Our Lives Recap: Kristen Returns to Slap EJ Over His Betrayal

At first, everyone might be tempted to dismiss his condition as seasonal flu. But considering everything happening around EJ right now, that explanation feels far too convenient. EJ has enemies everywhere, and several of them have very strong reasons to want him out of the way.

The most obvious suspect may be Kristen DiMera.

Kristen has never been known for choosing the easy or innocent solution. When she feels cornered, she becomes even more dangerous, and right now she has every reason to panic. EJ is furious with her after discovering that Kristen was involved in an attempt to have his son Johnny killed through Sophia Choi. That revelation has transformed their already toxic family relationship into something much darker.

EJ wants revenge, and Kristen knows it.

That means Kristen needs a way to stay ahead of him. If EJ is healthy, alert, and actively hunting her down, escaping Salem becomes incredibly difficult. But if EJ is suddenly too weak to leave his bed, investigate her movements, or organize a counterattack, Kristen gains exactly the opening she needs.

And there is another shocking element to her plan.

Kristen has apparently taken Susan Banks out of the picture and is now using Susan’s identity to manipulate the people around her. By pretending to be Susan, Kristen can move through Salem while creating confusion and planting doubts in the minds of those closest to her. Rachel Black is especially vulnerable to this kind of manipulation because Susan’s presence carries enormous emotional weight.

The idea of Kristen secretly poisoning EJ while simultaneously wearing Susan’s face would be the ultimate example of her twisted strategy. She would not simply be attacking EJ physically. She would be attacking his mind, his family, and his ability to understand what is happening around him.

And if the poison is eventually revealed to be fatal, Kristen could have gone much further than anyone expected.

There is also the possibility that Kristen has somehow obtained help from the dangerous medical resources connected to Dr. Rolf. Given Kristen’s history with experimental treatments and mysterious substances, fans know better than to assume that she could not get her hands on something capable of making EJ dangerously ill.

The clever part would be keeping the symptoms vague enough to resemble an ordinary illness.

EJ becomes weak. He sweats. He struggles to stay conscious. Everyone assumes he has the flu. Meanwhile, Kristen gets the perfect distraction she needs to disappear before EJ realizes what happened.

But Kristen may not be the only person with a reason to want EJ incapacitated.

Cat Greene is another suspect who deserves serious attention.

Cat has been secretly working against EJ while maintaining her position close to him. As an undercover ISA operative, she has access to his office, his files, his schedule, and even his daily routines. She knows when he drinks his coffee, when he takes meetings, and when his attention is elsewhere.

That makes Cat uniquely positioned to sabotage him without immediately attracting suspicion.

DAYS The Rinse, May 1: Has Kristen Gone Too Far This Time?

Her mission has already become increasingly dangerous. She has been working alongside Rafe Hernandez to gather evidence against EJ, and one of the most important pieces of evidence involved the complicated body-switch situation surrounding Gwen Rizczech. Cat stole a crucial letter and went as far as removing evidence from Melinda Trask’s legal records.

That is not the behavior of someone who is merely gathering information.

Cat is already taking enormous risks.

And if she believes the evidence against EJ may not be enough to bring him down, she could decide that making him vulnerable is the next logical step. A sick and incapacitated EJ would be much easier to investigate than a powerful CEO actively covering his tracks.

Still, there is one major problem with the Cat theory.

Rafe.

Rafe has always tried to operate within the boundaries of the law, even when dealing with someone as infuriating as EJ. If he discovered that Cat had deliberately poisoned a suspect, he could be horrified. His hatred of EJ might make the situation complicated, but intentionally causing serious physical harm is an entirely different matter.

That is why Kristen remains such a dangerous possibility.

Kristen does not need permission.

She does not need a partner.

And she certainly does not need to convince herself that poisoning EJ is morally acceptable.

For Kristen, this could simply be survival.

Meanwhile, EJ’s suffering has been made even more humiliating by the chaos surrounding the Smith Island scandal. Even while he is trapped in bed, the consequences of his decisions continue closing in around him.

The water contamination controversy has become another enormous threat. EJ has been connected to efforts to conceal the truth, while innocent people have suffered devastating consequences. The tragedy involving Destiny Roland has made the scandal particularly serious, and the fact that EJ allegedly used his own son Johnny to obtain sensitive information only makes his situation worse.

So when EJ suddenly becomes desperately ill, there is a strange sense of poetic justice surrounding the entire storyline.

For once, the man who normally controls everyone else has absolutely no control over what is happening to him.

He cannot intimidate his enemies.

He cannot manipulate witnesses.

He cannot simply walk into a room and demand answers.

He is stuck in bed, vulnerable and confused, while the people surrounding him may be secretly working against him.

And that vulnerability could ultimately be what kills him.

Imagine the moment EJ finally realizes that his illness was never natural.

Perhaps a doctor examines his blood and discovers something unusual. Perhaps someone at DiMera Pharmaceuticals notices that his symptoms do not match an ordinary infection. Or perhaps EJ himself begins connecting the dots and realizes that the timing of his sickness is far too suspicious.

If that happens, his first instinct will almost certainly be revenge.

The biggest question is whether he discovers Kristen’s involvement before it is too late.

Kristen has already proven that she can manipulate identities, deceive family members, and turn emotional relationships into weapons. Pretending to be Susan while secretly targeting EJ would be the kind of elaborate scheme that only someone like Kristen could pull off.

And if EJ dies before anyone exposes her, Kristen could believe she has finally escaped his vengeance.

But soap operas rarely allow a secret this explosive to remain buried forever.

There is also the possibility that EJ survives the poisoning, only for the truth to emerge later. That could be even more devastating for Kristen because EJ would not simply want her arrested. He would want her destroyed.

Imagine EJ recovering just enough strength to discover that the woman pretending to be Susan was actually Kristen all along. Imagine the look on his face when he realizes that his own sister manipulated his family while secretly poisoning him.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Kristen Returns to Slap EJ Over His Betrayal

That confrontation could become one of the most explosive DiMera showdowns Salem has seen in years.

And then there is Susan.

If Kristen has truly been impersonating her, Susan’s eventual return could blow the entire scheme apart. Rachel could suddenly realize that the woman she trusted was never her grandmother at all. EJ could discover that Susan was being held somewhere while Kristen used her identity. Every lie could collapse at once.

That is what makes this storyline so dangerous.

EJ’s illness may look like the central mystery, but underneath it is a much larger battle involving revenge, family loyalty, criminal evidence, secret identities, and the relentless struggle for control of the DiMera empire.

Whether Kristen is ultimately exposed as the poisoner or another enemy is revealed, EJ’s sudden collapse has changed the balance of power.

For years, EJ has been the person everyone else feared.

Now he is the one lying helplessly in bed.

And if the latest clues are pointing toward Kristen, this may not be an illness at all. It could be the opening move in her most dangerous escape plan yet.

The question now is whether EJ will survive long enough to uncover the truth.

Because if Kristen really did pose as Susan, secretly poison EJ, and leave him fighting for his life, then Salem is about to discover just how far she is willing to go.

And the moment EJ finally learns who betrayed him could unleash a DiMera war unlike anything we have seen before.
