‘Big Brother’ is back — and closing in on 1,000 episodes

(KREX) — The house is open. The alliances are already forming. And somewhere, someone is about to make the first terrible decision of the summer.

Welcome to Season 28 of Big Brother.

But this isn’t just another summer of backdoors, blindsides and house meetings. This season, the reality TV giant is about to pull off something unheard of in primetime television: 1,000 episodes. Even Julie Chen Moonves still has a hard time wrapping her head around it.

“Season one — midseason — they almost cancelled us. There was chatter,” she told us.
